As part of Eastern cultural heritage, its popularization in Kazakhstan fosters cultural exchange and mutual understanding between peoples.

One aspect of Go's philosophy is the establishment of explicit and implicit connections. Therefore, Go unites people regardless of their gender, age, profession, or social status, who are committed to self-improvement and progress. The Federation seeks to develop and support players through organizing gatherings, master classes, and tournaments.
International Interaction
Go is widely represented on an international level, with strong communities in all parts of the world. Participation of Kazakhstan's players in international tournaments and events provides opportunities for experience exchange and strengthens international ties.
The modern history of Go's development in Kazakhstan began in 2008, when the current President of the Federation, Yerlan Baymukhametov, became the first official player to represent the country at an international tournament in South Korea.

Subsequently, the first clubs started appearing in the cities of Karaganda and Almaty. Since the establishment of the Public Association "Kazakhstan Go Federation" under the leadership of Yerlan Baymukhametov in 2010, tournaments began to be held. The first national tournament took place in 2015. In 2021, the Federation was reorganized into the non-profit organization "Kazakhstan Go Federation" under the jurisdiction of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

Events
our community
Centers of activity are focused in major cities like Almaty and Astana, where most events and meetings take place. Communities are also present in other regional centers, the largest of which are Karaganda and Shymkent. Karaganda hosts one of the oldest Go clubs in Kazakhstan, with regular meetings held since 2008.
The primary interaction, coordination of club meetings, and dynamic exchange of useful information within the community take place on a Telegram chat with more than 1,500 participants. There, training seminars, game analyses, tournaments, strategies, and cultural aspects of Go are regularly discussed.
The community is actively represented on social media, including over 12,000 followers on Instagram, where educational content, information about Go-related books, as well as news and tournament results are published.
